On Tuesday, July 27th we are offering an open puzzle making workshop for anyone that would like to make a puzzle piece. It will be from 6-9pm at the SurfTaco in Belmar. Art supplies and puzzle pieces will be provided. We are asking for a $10 donation per piece. $5 goes to the Jinka Foundation.

teen arts festival
on march 17, 19-20 '09, i was an arts instructor at the teen arts festival sponsored by the monmouth county arts council at brookdale community college. my project was a group installation involving student artists from monmouth county high schools.
prior to the festival we visited several of the participating schools and discussd
art and the "puzzle" project. we handed out approx. 400+ blank 2'x2' puzzle pieces.
we encouraged the students to get creative with their individual pieces. some have been painted, drawn on, collaged and decorated with various other mix media.
we then assembled the pieces together as part of a huuuuge installation project at the festival. it was big fun.

on thursday, 3.12, i hosted a casual puzzle piece creative session at the st gallery at the jersey shore. local artists, teen arts ambassadors and surftaco employees were in attendance.

the teen arts ambassadors met at the monmouth museum on feb. 24th to review the current group exhibition on display. sandy taylor and tim kelly held discussions with the arts ambassadors about each piece of art and also listened to spoken word by 3 teens and enjoyed a beautiful dance performance by another. the night was casual and interactive. dave taylor provide acoustic rhythms for a melodious background. good evening of art.
