The Puzzle Installation & Collaborative Project is Growing & Traveling...
Upcoming Puzzle Making Events:
- A large jigsaw art installation containing more than one hundred two-foot-square artistic puzzle pieces has been assembled and placed on exhibit at Chelsea Market. It will remain on display at the Artists & Fleas indie art market throughout the month of March (and hopefully longer). This installation includes puzzle creations from New York and New Jersey, The Corlears School in NYC and debuts pieces from Slovakia, Germany, England, Italy and the Czech Republic. - There are more than 200 pieces installed at The Monroe Center for the Arts in Hoboken NJ. (720 Monroe Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030, 201.795.5000 x 200) The Hoboken HS art students assisted Tim Kelly with their installation.
An open workshop will be held on Sunday, April 29th from 3-5pm. All You Need is $10 and Your Good Ideas. Art supplies, live music and positive creative energy will be provided. Participants can bring personal items to affix to their puzzle piece(s).
In the Fall/Winter of 2012 we will assemble and exhibit every puzzle piece in the planet at the center. it is easily assessible by Light Rail. www.monroecenter.com
- The Puzzle Project will be at Figment Art on Governors Island on JUne 9th & 10th. Take a ferry to see and make free art. www.newyork.figmentproject.org
- The Keegan Theater in Dupont Circle, Washington DC will host a puzzle making workshop on Sunday, April 15th from 7-9pm. After the matinée, puzzle making will commence. All You Need is $10 and Your Good Ideas. Art supplies, live music and positive creative energy will be provided. Participants can bring personal items to affix to their puzzle piece(s).
- On Friday, February 17th puzzle pieces were made by students at PS177 in Queens. We go back in a couple of weeks to assemble and hang their pieces at the school... then they will join the big installation.
- Student artists from North Salem Middle School in NY recently created artistic puzzle pieces together in a 2 phase school project.
- Teens in Troy New York recently made puzzle art together during the birthday party for a local artist.
- The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center will host an Art is Good puzzle making event on March 18th at SurfTaco in Belmar.
- The Woodlin Elementary School in Silver Spring, MD will be participating in the puzzle project. We will host a workshop there on March 23rd, 2012.
- The Puzzle Project recently visited the Little Acorn Playschool in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Tim and the young artists had an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.
- The Lavallette Elementary School will create puzzle pieces as part of their Save Barnegat Bay campaign.
- On November 10th there was a reception featuring the puzzle pieces created by artists from Monmouth University. They are making 100+ puzzle pieces as part of a fundraising effort for Autism. The puzzle pieces will be installed at the Pollak Gallery on campus on October 25th. The puzzle pieces will remain up for a month and the installation will grow as artists continue to add.
- The Fusion Academy in Mission Viejo, California has begun making puzzle art together as part of the puzzle project. They are part of a multiple campus one-on-one learning institution. - The Los Angeles campus of Fusion Academy is now participating in the puzzle project. That's our 4th participating group in California!!
- A group of Adolescents and adults in Chicago have created puzzle pieces as part of the puzzle project. Soon other groups in the Chicago area will be joining us.
- Art Connects New York at 491 Broadway, 5th Floor, SoHo, NYC (646.546.5334) is partnering with the Puzzle project as a pickup/dropoff point for puzzle pieces. You can get your puzzle piece Tues-Thurs from noon-6pm. We have hundreds of puzzle pieces created in NYC on display until July 27th.
- Monsignor Donovan High School Will be making puzzle art in late May.
- Creative Seven Studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn will be hosting puzzle making workshops and art parties throughout the Spring/Summer.

After Brookdale Community College it went to SurfTaco Belmar at 1003 Main Street, Belmar, NJ. There it occupied over 1000 square feet of space and continued to evolve and grow.

A portion has been traveling around Monmouth County to multiple venues and another sample of puzzle pieces is in NYC.

On July 24th another portion of the installation was at Monmouth County Library in Howell for a communty puzzle art making event.

On November 15th The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Fund sponsored an Art is Good creative workshop and puzzle art making event.

A group of artists in Pekin, Indiana created puzzle pieces in November '09.

In November 2009 the School of Creative and Performing Arts in San Diego created puzzle pieces during their Design in Mixed Media classes and will exhibited them in December '09.

On December 3rd the Monmouth & Ocean County Brain Tumor Support Group hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

Puzzle making workshops have been scheduled monthly at the SevenTrees Studio in In Williamsburg, Brooklyn (NYC).

On January 23rd the Eastern Branch of the Monmouth Library System hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

On January 24th the Manalapan Branch of the Monmouth Library System hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

On January 30th Wall Branch of the Monmouth Library System hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

On February 6th the Ocean Branch of the Monmouth Library System hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

On February 20th Marlboro Branch of the Monmouth Library System hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop.

Since March 1st all of the puzzle pieces produced at the Monmouth Library System workshops have been displayed at the corporate location in Manalapan, NJ.

A portion of the Puzzle Project was in Mississippi and was developed by Americorp, NCCC volunteers.

The Shanghai Community International School in China participated but we have yet to receive photos. We hope to get some.

Escola Xin Hua at Macau in Hong Kong is a part of the puzzle project.

The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Fund hosted puzzle art making events on March 14th & Aprill 11th, plus a 6 week workshop series and a Summer workshop/camp.

The YMCA in Williamsburg & Greenpoint Brooklyn hosted five 10 week puzzle workshops with their after-school programs.
- On Thursday, April 22nd a puzzle making party was hosted in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
- The YMCA in Greenpoint Brooklyn exhibited a puzzle sub-installation at their Spring Expo on Thursday, May 27th.
- The Ocean & Monmouth County Brain Tumor Support Group hosted an Art is Good puzzle making event on Saturday, June 5th at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Tinton Falls.
- The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Fund is hosted an Art is Good puzzle making event on June 6th.
- The Compassionate Friends (www.compassionatefriends.org) hosted an Art is Good puzzle making workshop on Sunday June 13th in Allentown, NJ.
- The IPH Elementary School in Surabaya, Indonesia made puzzle pieces using recycled boxes.
- The Online Community Etsy (www.etsy.com) hosted an employee puzzle making workshop at their labs in Brooklyn in July 2010.
- The David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Fund hosted an Art is Good puzzle making event on July 20th, plus a 6 week workshop series and a Summer workshop/camp (Camp Jinka) at the Middletown Arts Center. The workshops were provided by The Jinka Foundation.
- On Tuesday, July 27th SurfTaco in Belmar held a puzzle making workshop.
- South Richmond HS/IS Students @ IS7 hosted a puzzle making workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 3rd. It will hopefully be their first of many.

- The Reaves Gallery at 526 w26th street, Suite 706 in Chealse, NYC is hosted an open puzzle making workshop on Tuesday, November 30th from 6-9pm.

- PS177 in New York City will be hosting a puzzle making workshop on Friday, March 18th.
- JSAS in Asbury Park, NJ hosted a puzzle making workshop on Wednesday, April 13th.
- The Queens Museum of Art purchased 60 blank puzzle pieces and made puzzle art with the students at PS144. They were on display at their April 28th exhibit. That evening over a dozen families made puzzle art together.
- On Sunday, September 25th puzzle pieces will be made by the families of the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Foundation at an Art is Good workshop at SurfTaco in Belmar.
- On Sunday, October 15th puzzle pieces will be made by the families of the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Foundation at an Art is Good workshop at SurfTaco in Belmar.
- Art Connects New York at 491 Broadway, 5th Floor, SoHo, NYC hosted the Puzzle Project exhibition's opening reception on Wednesday, July 6th. It was an amazing evening. We were fortunate to have the exhibit featured by NY1 and China's Sino TV.
- On Tuesday, July 19th from 6-9pm, there was a puzzle making workshop at ACNY. Click to learn about ACNY. Artists made art while sitting on blankets surrounded by hundreds of puzzle pieces.
- On Sunday, November 13th puzzle pieces were made by the families of the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Foundation at an Art is Good workshop at SurfTaco in Belmar. Their pieces will be included with approx 500 others created by the brain tumor community. They will all be assembled as a background for an upcoming fundraiser/fashion show

- The Middletown Arts Center had approx. 3,000 puzzle pieces installed on the walls, in the hallways and stairwells of their facility. It kept growing everyday. We added almost 500 new artistic puzzle pieces since our opening reception in February 2011. The community picked up blank puzzle pieces (for a $10 donation), then returned them to be added into the assembled installation. The donations went to help pay for art initiatives at the center and to Camp Jinka.
- On Friday, May 20th, boys from PS161 in Harlem made puzzle art. Their artwork was included in our July Puzzle exhibit at Art Connects New York in SoHo. I've been told that they are very excited...so we are, too. Art is good!
- Island Heights Grade School hosted a puzzle making workshop on June 3rd. We were happy to have them participate in the puzzle project.
- Student's from Monmouth University will be participating in the puzzle project in the Fall. They will create hundreds of puzzle pieces and on October 25th they will exhibit them at the Monmouth University's Pollak Gallery. The students are doing it to raise funds and awareness for Autism. We cannot wait to see what they create.
- South Richmond HS/IS will be hosting another puzzle making workshop(s) for the other schools in their system. The first one was a smashing success.

Over 300 students at PS16 in Williamsburg Brooklyn are creating puzzle pieces. Their work is currently exhibited at the school and continues to grow.
